George W. Bush Welcomes New Grandson, Named in Tribute to His Great-Grandfathers

George W. Bush is rejoicing over a new family member! The 78-year-old former president recently celebrated the birth of his new grandson on social media. Bush greeted his daughter Barbara Pierce Bush and her husband Craig Coyne on the birth of their second child in a touching Instagram message.

Barbara and Craig, who already have a daughter named Cora Georgia, who is two years old, brought their newborn son, Edward Finn, into the world a few days ago. The couple posted a heartwarming picture of themselves holding their newborn boy at the hospital.

As they tenderly care for their new boy, their faces are beaming with joy. The caption says: “Our newest blessing, born on August 4 and named after his great-grandfathers, makes @laurawbush and I proud grandparents.” Dear Edward Finn Coyne, welcome to the world. Barbara, Craig, and big sister Cora Georgia deserve congratulations!

On Monday, August 5, Jenna Bush Hager, Barbara’s twin sister, broke the happy news first. Jenna, co-anchor of *Today*, shared a series of Instagram pictures showing how happy she is to be an aunt once more.

“My sissy had a little mister, and I fell madly in love with Edward Finn!” Jenna, 42, wrote. Pictures showing her caring for her newborn nephew, praising Barbara’s holding of Edward, and a charming shot of the infant dozing off in his mother’s arms are all included in her post.

Despite Jenna’s lack of information on her nephew’s birth, the pictures amply convey the happiness of the family. Notably, Today.com pointed out that Edward was spotted sporting an NYU Langone Health cap, suggesting that Barbara may have given birth at the esteemed hospital in New York City.

In the past, George W. Bush and his spouse Laura have expressed their joy at the prospect of becoming grandparents. A joint announcement commemorating the birth of their granddaughter, Cora, was made by the couple.

“With hearts full, @laurawbush and I are thrilled to announce the arrival of our beautiful granddaughter,” the former president shared. In October 2021, they joyfully revealed that Barbara gave birth to Cora Georgia Coyne on September 27, 2021, in Maine, near their family home where Barbara and Craig had their wedding. “We are overjoyed and grateful that Cora is healthy and adorable.”
